Cyber Security

The Cyber Security SME-Expert will analyze and investigate Sponsor projects and initiatives from intelligence disciplines and technology. Activities include conducting technical security and risk assessments, drafting assessment reports, developing and providing assessment briefings, attending customer meetings, and participating in all Sponsor activities related to the assignment. Assessments will focus on operational and technical environments to validate and verify operational and technical requirements, identify points of vulnerability and operational security risks, address non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the project life cycle, and recommend mitigation strategies. Interact with offices across the Sponsors organization and with other agencies and vendors as necessary.

Certification Requirements:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Possess one or more of the following certifications : Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN), Security +, Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Information Security, IT networks, systems or networks
  • Demonstrate program development to include Configuration management, Patch Management, Incident responses, Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Demonstrate Cyber Security design to include federal and industry best practices following Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmark for firewalls, routers, switches, intrusion detection and prevention, logging and auditing, mission separation and virtualization security
  • Demonstrated experience communicating to cyber security management across organizations
  • Demonstrated experience with Information Assurance principles, issues, and technology
  • Demonstrated experience with Cyber, Physical, and Personnel security disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, though in concert with multiple managers
  • Demonstrated experience writing clear, concise assessments based on solid collected data
  • Demonstrated experience delivering well-crafted briefings before a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated experience with program management skills
  • Skill in managing incident management/incident response requirements, Protected Critical Infrastructure Information regulations and policies as they relate to information distribution
  • Ability to deal with others calmly and effectively within repetitive high paced and stressful situations
  •  Ability to provide decision support and course of action development to senior leadership to accomplish the critical infrastructure security and resilience mission


  • Masters Degree in a business, management or IT related field
  • Possess one or more of the following certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's IT organizational structure, infrastructure and control boards
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's Information Assurance policies and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsors Project Management Framework
